There is a first of its kind, statewide high school student music and arts contest happening in February and March. The winners will be given an incredible opportunity to perform/show their work at the Wells Fargo Theatre in a concert and event that will coincide with the national volleyball championships so there will be several thousand attending this spotlight event.
The Colorado Live “Walk More Softly” Contest was created by Jock Bartley, the lead guitarist, singer/songwriter and band leader for Firefall. For thirty years, Firefall has traveled the world playing their hit songs, including their biggest, “You Are The Woman”, that has received five million radio airplays.
The CONCEPT of ‘Walk More Softly’ asks all of us to become more AWARE and PERCEPTIVE of our surroundings and our impact on them. It asks each of us to be more HUMBLE, CARING, RESPECTFUL OF OTHERS, more RESPONSIBLE and TOLERANT. It asks us individually and collectively as citizens of the world to do better. It is a concept whose time has come.
This contest is for all Colorado high school students who are involved in their Visual Arts or Music programs. The deadline for all entries is February 19th, 2011. You must be a full-time high school student in order to enter this contest. Please click this link for more information. Let me know if you’d like me to nominate you!
